So let’s break down socialism. First, what is socialism? Socialism is defined as equally distributing goods. Usually, when it is discussed in the United States, they mean equally distributing wealth. Doesn’t sound too bad! Keep dreaming. Under these socialist ideologies, your paycheck would be distributed to everyone. Even though Sanders or Harris says, “They’re going to tax the rich,” it’s a lie. There’s only a small percentage of rich people, but an extremely considerable number of poor people. Guess who they will come for next? The middle class. That’s most of the American people. The other issue I have is that my money, my hard-earned money, would be also going to someone who IS poor, but doesn’t have a job and just sits at home collecting checks. So, I have to lose money for someone else to gain money, who isn’t helping redistribute the wealth? And even those who lost their job, and can’t find work for a few months. You think they’ll go back to work after receiving a check for a certain amount of money? I don’t think so.
Socialism would require complete trust in the government. I don't depend on my professors to give me a good grade, I have to work for it and depend on myself. It's the same principle. If you don't pay or do what the government says, they will not help you, even if you're on your death bed. Look at what happened in France, with that disabled man who died after being starved to death. 26 days without food or water. He never received help because the government decided he wasn't worth saving, so they let him die. Could you imagine what his family went through? It broke my heart to read it. France has universal healthcare, which is pretty much a form of free healthcare. The government pays for your bills. If your bills are constant, like this man's was, they can decide to stop paying, which means the doctors won't help you anymore, like in this case. Free comes at a cost. This poor man paid for it with his life, and that's awful. The government can decide who can "receive help" and who can't. Disabilities should not be a death sentence. No illness should be a death sentence. Having your own insurance, that you can pay for yourself and control, is much better than trusting the government to pay for everything. Nothing good lasts forever. That's how it is with socialism.
Now, here’s a story I think mostly every person is familiar with. The story of Jim Jones. For those of you who don’t know, Jim Jones was the psychotic madman who took 900+ Americans to Guyana, from California, promising them this utopia. When his evil operations behind Jonestown were close to being exposed, he had his followers drink Kool-Aid laced with cyanide and other lethal drugs. Almost 1,000 Americans were killed in Jonestown, only 15 survived. This was the largest loss of American life PRIOR to 9/11. If you’ve ever heard the phrase “Don’t drink the Kool-Aid,” now you know where it came from. I’ve seen MANY documentaries on Jim Jones. The one entitled “Jim Jones: What Happened” is an excellent one to see about this madman. You hear the final audio recording in Jonestown, including the screams of the people who drank the poisonous concoction. This coward couldn’t take the poison, so he took the easygoing way out, and shot himself. Some speculated that the Jonestown massacre only took 20 minutes. He had the children go first, so the parents wouldn’t want to live because they killed their children. My family is from Guyana. They knew the effects of socialism. My grandmother (on my mother’s side) knew the medical examiner, and he stated that most of the victims did not drink the Kool-Aid. They had it forcefully injected into them.

To close, socialism isn’t the answer. Everyone who promises socialism makes it sound like a good thing. In all honesty, it isn’t. Capitalism is the answer. No matter the background, everyone has a chance of making a living and make money for themselves through capitalism. Socialism doesn’t provide that opportunity. I have provided stories explaining this, and you can research some! TPUSA did a great video of these men who escaped socialism in Venezuela, and why we cannot have it in the United States. But back to my original point, if we let a Democrat win 2020, kiss everything you love about this country goodbye. We will lose our freedoms. Socialism destroys countries. Corruption and greed take over and destroys these prosperous countries. That’s the reason socialism doesn’t work. Humans are naturally corrupted. There’s no going around it. Socialism destroys, and that’s why it cannot win in 2020. Free stuff is NEVER free for long. Someone will have to pay for it. The government shouldn't be involved in my life. As Donald Trump said, “The United States will never be a socialist country!”

Some of you may be annoyed with me saying the "Keep it friendly" thing over and over again, and that’s fine. I'm not calling anyone out. However, I think it’s important to remember that we don’t need to demean someone or use nasty language just because you don’t like what they said. That’s something Republicans and Democrats are both guilty of.
My sister's a socialist, and in a perfect world, it sounds pretty great, but unfortunately, it never works in action. Good post.
